"The skills Janice provided me with benefit me now in my career as a teacher, as I am tapping into those very strategies demonstrating organization, collaboration, teamwork, and initiative. I'm now better able to self-regulate and work independently, trusting in myself."

"Our daughter was struggling and barely passing Grade 10 math. A psycho-educational assessment revealed that she had a learning disability. Despite tutoring, there was little improvement, and her teacher recommended switching to applied math for Grade 11. However, after working with Janice, our daughter developed organizational skills to manage her workload and learned how to access support for her learning needs. She is now understanding and doing well in Grade 11 academic math, as well as applying the strategies Janice taught her to other subjects."

"I have completed a diploma and a bachelor’s degree. Janice taught and helped me master hard skills such as scheduling, prioritizing, and creating outlines and templates; we devoted substantial time to academic writing while preserving my creativity. Soft skills included negotiating and relationship building with classmates, professors and peers and how to constantly adapt to novel situations as an ABI student. Janice taught me useful skills that are now easily transferable into my career, allowing me to be an effective life-long learner."

"As I entered my 50s, I found myself at a crossroads. On the surface, I had done well. I made smart investments and built a stable life but deep down, I felt unfulfilled. The weight of aging parents, career transitions, and the realization that I had been coasting for years left me feeling lost. I knew I needed a change, not just in my career but in my mindset, my health, and my sense of purpose.
A close friend recommended Calm Water Learning, and that’s when I met Janice. We started with some mindfulness coaching sessions, which really helped me center myself. Then, we delved into personal development workshops that opened my eyes to new perspectives. What began as a one-month commitment turned into three months of ongoing support that truly transformed me. Janice guided me through the turbulence, helping me gain clarity and redefine my path with confidence. Her approach was more than just support, it was a lifeline.
If you’re facing challenges, feeling stuck, or simply need someone to help you see things from a fresh perspective, I wholeheartedly recommend Calm Water Learning. It’s not just about coaching; it’s about finding a renewed sense of self and a path forward."

"As a mature student with ADHD and other learning disabilities working toward a post-secondary graduate certificate, I’ve faced challenges with organization, focus, and stress management. My academic strategist, Janice, was incredibly patient and supportive throughout this journey. She provided me with practical tools to stay organized, helped me learn how to prioritize tasks, and offered strategies that helped me stay calm, focused, and better manage my anxiety. Thanks to her guidance, I’ve achieved strong grades and am now on track to graduate with honours. I’m truly grateful for her support and encouragement."
Suham
My daughter has ADHD. She struggled with staying focused on homework, transitioning between activities and getting up in the mornings.
"Working with Janice was wonderful as my daughter learnt learning strategies to help with doing her homework more efficiently. She had moments where she felt lost then she recalled the tips from Janice and quickly completed her work.
She also became efficient at planning her work on her own using various tools. She became better at owning her morning routine.
It is a lifelong journey of learning and it is important that little wins are celebrated along the way. As parents sometimes we overlook little improvements. Janice kept a very positive and optimistic approach throughout the sessions which helped my daughter be more confident in her learning journey. Looking forward to achieving more success together in the future!"
Parent (daughter, grade 8)
"Working with Janice not only helped me achieve my goals but was fun too! She is compassionate, creative and has many ideas about how you as a student can reach your goals. If something doesn't work for you, she will have another idea about how to do it that will suit you! I needed support during a time that was a big crunch and I had some fears and resistance, but she offered me some strategies and tools to be able to achieve what I needed to accomplish. I am forever grateful for her support, energy, kindness and humour! I cannot recommend her enough. She is totally awesome!"
